OK, this guy’s good. 8D8 is not only a droid that’s bent on torture. He’s a droid that’s bent on torturing other droids! I’m sorry, it just doesn’t get any colder than that. The 8D8 action figure, with a vaguely skeleton form and an icy white stare, pays fine tribute to the Return of The Jedi character of the same name and wicked ways in general.
He always reminded me of Marvin the Paranoid Android. This was years before any visual interpretation of Marvin was available, and 8D8’s face just had that look of hopeless depression.
i thought 8d8 was suppose to be female . any way the picture captures the pycho droid to a tee
I suppose it’s possible that 8D8 is female. Lord knows I’ve known some (females) to be on the sadistic side 😉 On the other hand sènor wookiepedia suggests male… http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/8D8 Oh, bugger.
I was not aware that robots could be male or female. I just thought they were simply robots.
